Peter Lilley
Born in Ipswich in 1943, the fourth of four sons, twice married with 1 daughter and 2 stepdaughters.
I attended local grammar school and left in 1960 to work in a local accountants office as a trainee. I moved after about 4 years to a shipping company as the book-keeper /accountant where I stayed for about 14 years before transferring to another shipping company, this time the Belgian National Shipping Line UK agent where I became Secretary and Director. I left in 1988 and started work for a local manufacturer of ceramics whose goods were sold worldwide and I was responsible for the accounts/warehouse distribution and transport.
In 2002 I married again, this time to Shirley and together we decided that a move to Spain would be worth investigating as we were both working ourselves into the ground and the lifestyle here was far more to our liking. We actually moved here in early 2004 and love the region and the friends we have made. Perhaps the only thing we miss, apart from the family, are the country festivals that we attended several weekends a year, seeing and hearing the very best of British Country and of course some International bands/singers.
My interest in country music goes back to the early 60´s and the sounds of Jim Reeves, Hank Williams, and listening to BBC Radio shows to keep up to date with the trends, an interest that has not faded over the years.
Peter.
